Yannis Trepeklis was elected District Governor of the Ionian Islands after the October 2023 elections in Greece. Mr. Trepeklis received 32.5% in the first round (October 8th 2023) and 65.4% in the second round (October 15th 2023), winning over the previous District Governor, Rodi Kratsa-Tsagkaropoulou.

Biography
- Yannis Trepeklis studied at the Polytechnic of Rome as an architect and then settled in Corfu where he married Eleni Loutsis, also an architect, with whom they had a daughter and a son
- Since 1985 he has maintained a Technical Office in Corfu where he is professionally active
