He graduated from the Kapodistrian University of Athens in 1974 and completed his neurosurgical training at the Hospital of Agios Savvas. Head of the Neurosurgery Department of the General Hospital of Athens “Georgios Gennimatas” until 2013
He specializes in stereotactic neurosurgery at the Karolinska Institutet, γ-knife at Sheffield and endoscopic surgery at Mainz. To date, he has performed more than 10,000 neurosurgeries, including more than 1,500 intracranial incisions. He specializes in the surgical treatment of brain aneurysms. He has founded the Intensive Care Unit of the Neurosurgery Clinic of the General Hospital of Athens “Georgios Gennimatas”. His experience to date encompasses the full range of neurosurgeries, from minimally invasive neurosurgeries to extremely severe surgeries, such as brain tumors (benign and malignant processes, including meningiomas, colorectal cysts, colorectal cysts, , pituitary adenomas, craniopharyngiomas, etc.), intracranial aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, craniocerebral injuries, cervical myelopathy, microdiscectomy, spinal tumors, etc.).
