Lefkas Hiking (ex Mountain trails) is a group of people, whose love for nature began many years ago. We want to transfer our love of rural activities and the knowledge we have gained with professionalism and responsibility tο you.
Together we will cross gorges, walk along marked paths and ridges. Through the alpine zone, we will stumble upon lakes, rivers and waterfalls and we will stay in welcoming refuges overnight. We are excited to guide you and help you learn more about our country’s natural wealth while making you feel safe and part of our team.

On this beautiful island part of the Seven Islands, renowned for its beautiful beaches, we offer you an alternative form of activity. It is a proposal that concerns your engagement with mountain trekking, discovering magical routes. Join us as we discover the beauty of our island, that has a magnificent mountain mass, that will surprise and leave even the most demanding trekkers satisfied.
LEFKADA – MELISSA GORGE
Starting from Lefkada, heading towards the mountainous village of Karya at a distance of 6km we encounter the monument of the villagers who rebeled against English rule in 1819. The road has small turns and leads us after 2km to the dirt road that is the beginning of our excursion.Moving forward we reach the arch who signifies the entrance to the gorge. Right below is the cave’s spring where we can refill our water bottles and carry on. After walking on a beautiful path we reach a clearing and we head towars the Kako Langadi, a path paved with small wooden bridges, waterfalls, small lakes, watermills where the trees, the water, the waterfalls and the tall rocks create a breathtaking scenery. The end of our route leads us to a kiosk where we can rest and at the same time enjoy the nature. Heading back we stop at the clearing we saw at the beginning and we have our picnic. All together we return to Lefkada.

NIKIANA – SKAROS – RED CHURCH – KOLIVATA
From the seaside village of Nikiana we begin our rout towards the mountain of Skaros. A beautiful route but quite hard due to the altitude difference: 0-600m – 3km The trail is developed on the mountain trail running route (Lefkas Trail Running) that takes place on Lefkada, alternating from dirt, stone and cobble stone to woodland ending in the village of Kolivata a graphic, mountainous village. The route divides into two zones: the first ending in the plateau of Skaros and the second ending in the village of Kolivata. The route is demanding, hard and possible the best on Lefkada. In the village of Kolivata there is an option to have food or drinks in the local taverna. The return route is the same with small changes, ending at our starting point of Nikiana village.

- Nikiana – Summit (645m) – Red Church – Kolivata and return 5-6 hours

RED CHURCH – KOLIVATA
We start our route from the clearing in front of Red Church (Kokkini Ekklisia) and we follow an amazing path through the forest. Walking next to century old trees, passing through rocky walkways and crossing a riverbed, ending up in a clearing, we will then see the old Kolyvatian fresh water tap. We will then ascend on a rocky landscape and end up in the mountainous traditional village of Kolivata. There we can relax in the village’s square and in the traditional cafeteria/taverna. Then we will return to our base.

EGLOUVI – AG. DONATOS – VOLTI EGLOUVIS – AG. ILIAS – EGLOUVI
From the mountainous village of Eglouvi, at an altitude of 730m and from the main square, begins a paved cobble stone path that leads us to the trekking trail. After 30minutes we find ourselves in the plateau of Eglouvi, at Ag. Donatos at an altitude of 900m. This is where the famous lentils of Eglouvi are harvested. There are wells that offer us their cold fresh water, tholons that are used until this day to gather the lentils and the Volti, ancient buildings full of unique beauty and architecture, thought to be from Homeric times. After spending time admiring the natural beauty and Lefkada town from above, we continue our excursion heading towards the little church of Ag. Ilias, at an altitude of 1036m. From this point, there is a superb panoramic view of the whole island and of the surrounding islands. This view enchants even the most difficult of guests. We will then return through the paved cobble stone path, ending in the village of Eglouvi. After relaxing and enjoying the village’s square, we will return by car to Lefkada.

CHARADIATIKA – ALATRO CANYON
From Charadiatika a village near Nydri we head towards Alatro, a village that used to be the first capital of Lefkas. It is well hidden so that the citizens would be protected from pirates many years ago. The trail passes through rough tureen, the gorge and becomes really interesting, as we approach the village of Alatro. As soon as we arrive, we will find a tap with running fresh water and a sycamore tree, where we can rest. We will return through the gorge of Alatros, passing through certain points where the river creates small waterfalls, lakes and amazing spots of relaxation. Our walk ends at the square of Charadiatika. There is an option of a meal in the traditional village tavern.

LEFKADA – DESIMI – POROS
The route starts from Desimi and moves near the coastline of Lefkada. On our left one can see the island of Attoko and Meganisi. After 3km we enter the main path that will lead us to the village of Poros. The path is filled with trees and heads towards a rocky slope. After having enjoyed the view of Meganissi and the small islands around it, we end up in the village square and have some time to relax. We will return from a different route, with the eastern coast of Lefkada being on our right, and walking on a beautiful trail that leads us to the beach of Desimi, where we can go for a swim or just relax.
